In the name of the Bocuse d´Or Academy I’m proud to greet you on our official web site.

I’m pleased to announce after more then one year of hard work and organisation our dream has come true: the birth of the Bocuse d´Or Academy and from 2009 it will gather the work of the most prestigious contest in the world as an institution.

The Bocuse d’Or with more then two decades of history has conquered first Europe and later the world with its competition system, whereby the contender does the work within a given time in front of the worlds most renowned chef judges. The highlight of this “live” contest of course is the tasting. Today more then 50 countries participate in the Bocuse d’Or competitions. The feedback of the contest can be compared to the Oscar award night as more then 2000 journalist are attending.

We can only share the opinion of the organizers: “if you’re not in you’re behind” with the participation, Hungary is now also on the world gastronomy map. It can not be over emphasised how important this for the image of our country is, to be part of it, a tool to renewal of our gastronomy.

The Hungarian Bocuse d’Or Academy as independent gastronomy organisation is open to everyone, yet is committed to the progress of the Hungarian gastronomy, to honest work, to search talented young people and education, promote outstanding Hungarian products but also the strong unity of the profession.

The Bocuse d’Or is a symbol which originates in France, however is also our national gastronomy token to rise. This is an important point, whereupon the world listens. The time has come and we shall be part of it!

The main task the Hungarian Bocuse d’Or Academy –as after the foundation of the Bocuse d´Or Academy- is to organize the Bocuse d’Or contests in Hungary. This includes the organisation of the national contest, select the Hungarian participants and their preparation as well.

The Hungarian Bocuse d’Or Academy the worthy representative of the Bocuse d´Or name shall promote the traditions of the Hungarian gastronomy, the promotion of the Hungarian products, demonstrate the newest technology trends in the gastronomy and organize gastronomy programs. The aim is to introduce the Bocuse d’Or spirit in Hungary, for the sake of improvement in the art of gastronomy.

Press of conference regarding the future of the Bocuse d’Or

2009 June 17 Le Meridien Hotel

The Hungarian Bocuse d’Or and the Hungexpo Zrt. has invited the press to give a detailed report on one of the biggest Hungarian chef contests. At the press conference was also Yves Hunckler one of the main organizers, who came especially to this event from Lyon, he gave a brief overlook of the Bocuse d´Or Academy’s tasks and targets and further on he reassured Hungary of their full support.

Kálmán Kalla honourable chairman spoke about the professional part of the competition. A matter of curiosity is that the Bocuse d’Or Europe 2010 in Geneva will follow the already introduced example of serving, which is identical to the ones used in restaurants. The Bocuse d’Or goes with the trend – said Mr. Kalla and added further to it: we of course will introduce this important detail into the Hungarian competitions as well.
